Divine Discourse Summary  – February 11,2017

How to raise children who grow to become responsible adults?

The water, which pours down from sky as rain goes to the oceans. Each raindrop is pure and clear when it falls from sky. Depending on the place where it falls, it changes its identity. When it falls into the river Ganga, it also gets the fame as Ganga water. That holy Ganga water is used for the purpose of worship of God. That same water is sprinkled on our heads and we get the feeling of having become pure. But when the same water drops fall into drainage it becomes filthy, dirty and impure. Similarly, when children are born, they will be pure at heart. They will not have any worldly desires or aspirations. But such children as they grow, by the contact of society, develop all sorts of ill feelings, pride and false attachments.

It is not only the responsibility of the parents of children to protect them so that they remain pure but also of the entire society. Whichever part of the society they get associated with, those kind of attributes they develop in themselves. When such children join these institutions, they can retain their purity and grow spiritually, thereby living a purposeful life.  In our institutions, we are trying our best to impart to our children the best education, which is devoid of ill feelings and helps the children develop purity and good values. My motive and the motive of our institutions is that the children studying in here must develop spiritual knowledge along with worldly knowledge to become good human beings, good devotees and render selfless service  to the society.

It is not just the responsibility of the children,  teachers and educational institutions to help keep the children pure and good. Even the parents should help. When this trio of student-parent-teacher come together and work hand in hand, only then the children grow to achieve greater success in life.

Good character building in the students is most important while imparting good education. Devotion is the foundation for character. Those who love God, always strive to make God happy and aspire to get God's blessings. Whomever they meet in their lifetime, trusting that each one is an embodiment of God and that God resides in everyone, they will never hurt anyone and indulge in serving everyone, thus making their life purposeful.

Why should we impart education? It is to inculcate: Sadbodha -Good teachings;Sathya nirati-Continuous treading on the path of truth; Satchintana– Good thoughts;Satpravartana-Good conduct;Bhakti -Devotion;Kramashikshana-Discipline and Kartavya palana-Duty consciousness. It is My desire that all the parents, teachers and many others in the society should take active part in My mission so that we impart such good education. After having got good education completely free of cost, it is good to impart the same to other needy children later. Then only it is fruitful for having obtained education here in our Institutions.
